Blue offers paid, three-month internships year-round! Start gaining career experience while completing your degree so you can dive right into your first job post-college. Jumpstart Leadership Program

Blue’s Jumpstart Summer Leadership Program is a two-day, expenses-paid retreat where college students (freshmen to juniors) can learn more about our company and public accounting roles.

The leadership program is a great opportunity to:

  • Network and build your understanding of the accounting profession by hearing from industry professionals
  • Speak with Blue leadership and recent graduates about how they chose their career paths and got to where they are today
  • Participate in team building and social events with students from different schools
  • Learn what companies like Blue & Co. are looking for in candidates for internships and full-time positions

What to Expect

Application Process

Show us what you’re made of, and we’ll return the favor. Our HR team starts reviewing your application immediately, with the goal of getting you through the entire application process in under two weeks. 

During this call, we’ll ask a few qualifying questions about your skills and previous work experience and answer any preliminary questions you might have about the process or Blue & Co.

This is your first introduction to your team, whether in person or virtual. We’ll ask you more questions about your work experience and answer any questions you may have about working at Blue.
If needed, you’ll meet with more members of the Blue team.
If you meet all the qualifications for the position, you’re hired! Welcome to the team!

How do I apply to the internship program?

To apply for the internship program, submit your resume via Handshake or the Internship job opening on the application page.

Why should I intern at Blue instead of a Big 4 firm?

As a Blue & Co. intern, you can expect to contribute to the success of our team right away. Due to the small to mid-size feel, you will have a meaningful experience as you participate with our client service teams, working on the same tasks as a new staff accountant. You are introduced to many real-life settings and have the opportunity of working alongside tenured professionals. They continually check in to make sure you understand the why behind what we are doing for our clients. You will be mentored and receive timely feedback. Our interns learn and grow from the collaborative relationships they form with coworkers, our leadership teams, and client business owners. 

How often does an internship lead to a full-time offer?

Overall, our goal at Blue is to help you grow! The purpose of our internship program is to provide students with a meaningful internship experience in public accounting that will lead to the start of their career.

Can I intern while I am taking classes like a part-time position?

Yes. At Blue, we provide flexibility surrounding your school schedule. We understand academics are the foundation of your future within public accounting.

What is the Summer Leadership Program all about?

It’s a great opportunity to make connections, learn more, and launch your career in public accounting. Jumpstart Summer Leadership Event is designed to give you a taste of the world of public accounting and financial consulting and help you prepare for a successful career. As a participant, you will expand on your leadership skills through networking, fun activities, and informational presentations. You will also gain insight into our company culture.

Can I rotate through tax and audit during an internship?

Absolutely! Your internship is what you make of it. If you express interest in wanting to learn more about other areas in public accounting, we are here to provide you with an internship experience focusing on all different niches and teams.

I don’t have an accounting degree. What opportunities would I have with Blue?
